Artist's Description
This is Upper Pinnacle Falls in Filmore Glen State Park near Moravia, NY in Upstate NY. This was a wonderful fall day with the sunlight penetrating into the gorge lighting up some of the trees. The image, for me, conjours up scenes from fairy tales deep in the woods with the sun penetrating. This was just a superb day with wonderful blue skies, bright sunshine and lots of water flowing over the falls!
About Rod Best
Welcome to my gallery!! I am an Upstate NY based photographer who tries to capture the essence of landscapes, nature, and cityscapes with an eye for detail. Specializing in the scenic beauty of the Adirondack Mountains, Thousand Islands, Finger Lakes of New York State as well as the Central New York area, where I am from! When travelling, I will generally have my camera with me so that I can capture images from across the country with scenes such as cityscapes from Baton Rouge or Cleveland along the waterfront, to the Mountains of the Pacific Northwest! My photography is about showcasing the grandeur of the scene and quite often the subtle interplay of light and shadow, texture, and color. Whether it's the serene calm of a misty river...
