Artist's Description
While on a recent snowshoe hike, I was crossing the bridge you see in the image and realized I was crossing over a small waterfall that had frozen. So naturally, I had to get a better vantage point and carefully made my way down some frozen steps to get this point of view. I love snow covered pines and I love waterfalls, so how could I not just love this little scene that fits perfectly into a square composition! I hope you love it as much as I do!
About Rod Best
Welcome to my gallery!! I am an Upstate NY based photographer who tries to capture the essence of landscapes, nature, and cityscapes with an eye for detail. Specializing in the scenic beauty of the Adirondack Mountains, Thousand Islands, Finger Lakes of New York State as well as the Central New York area, where I am from! When travelling, I will generally have my camera with me so that I can capture images from across the country with scenes such as cityscapes from Baton Rouge or Cleveland along the waterfront, to the Mountains of the Pacific Northwest! My photography is about showcasing the grandeur of the scene and quite often the subtle interplay of light and shadow, texture, and color. Whether it's the serene calm of a misty river...
